Jake's nail

It was 16:45 and nursery called me at work to give me a heads up about Jake and his nail. He was playing outside with a wheelbarrow and had dropped it and tried to catch it but instead caught his nail on the concrete of the playground which resulted in it coming off. She informed me confidentially that they had managed to stop the bleeding but that he had been quite a traumatic experience for him, but he was OK now.

Well, I was in a mess! I went back to my desk but had to excuse myself and sobbed in the toilet - it was imagining the pain he went through that kept upsetting me and the fact I wasn't there to cuddle him. When I picked him up it was bandaged in a plaster and he kept looking at it but seemed pretty much back to his usual self. Before bed the plaster was starting to become blood soaked so we changed it (Adam did the nitty gritty and I pealed the plaster! I couldn't bare to look). This did upset Jake but he was fine once we had finished. We had a plaster on it for a couple of days but then it needed to dry out and then to be honest it didn't bother him again.

I shall update when we see signs of nail coming back.
