The boys' Christmas tree

This year I was very much "we'll put the trees up two weeks before Christmas" - we lasted till 30 November. I already had a small tree which I used to have in our bedroom but very kindly gave it to the boys and swore to myself to be hands off and let them decorate how they want.

We went to Homebase and Noah picked out some decorations for it.. including blue tinsel! Jake was a lot more keen to decorate the tree, Noah was far more interested in what was on the TV.

The finished product:

They now have it in their bedroom with some colourful fairy lights finishing it off.

Nice work boys!

Clay Pigeon Shooting

The boys are still away (but coming home this afternoon) which worked out perfectly as we had booked a Clay Pigeon Shooting experience.

I had been to the same place once before and was off to an amazing start... it just deteriorated as we went on but I would like to blame the cold weather! Adam was pretty good the whole way through.

We were greeted with a hot drink and a sausage sandwich, we then went shooting then came back to the cosy lodge for another hot drink and a slice of cake.

We had a really good time and are certainly looking at doing it again.

Phil's birthday lunch

The following day Adam was back to work and I found myself to have a day completely on my own! Mum took a day's holiday and we went over to Chester to have a birthday lunch with Phil. It was an added bonus the Christmas Markets were there to.

The day after Brad's wedding

The day after Brad's wedding Nana and Grandad took the boys back home for a mini holiday while Adam and I spent the morning in Norwich taking in some of the sights.

We then headed back home around lunch time but on the way we swung by Coningsby.

It was quite a nostalgic trip for Adam and I enjoyed being able to see the place in real life.

Brad and Jenny's Wedding

This was the first wedding we had taken the boys to and I think (with the help of Nana and Grandad) it was a success! Jake found great entertainment hiding behind the curtains during the ceremony...

..and Noah made sure he got the best position for his photos!

A wedding wouldn't be complete without drinking from champagne flutes!

...and more photo taking..

In the evening there was a room at the back kitted out with games for the kids, a large connect 4 and a large jenga etc. These (with the company of Grandad) kept them amused for ages.

Blue Planet Aquarium

Noah's friend Tom turned 4 yesterday and was allowed to pick one friend to take to the Blue Planet Aquarium. There was Noah and I,, Tom and Imo his mum, Ed his dad, Layla his sister and Lily his sisters friend.

We had a great time, Noah thought it was lots of fun pointing out the snakes and spiders!

...and the Dories and Nemos (obviously)

We also watched the Sting Rays be fed. Noah sat wonderfully with the others, fascinated!

Afterwards we headed over to Cheshire Oaks where we had lunch at Giraffe.

I'm not usually one of 'those' mums but...

Noah wrote his name!

We were writing a birthday card for Noah's friend Tom and I asked him if he could write his name (not really expecting him to) but he produced this, entirely unaided. He did swap hands after each letter and had a rather interesting way of creating the letters, but hey, he's only just turned 4!

For the remainder of the words ie. To Tom, I told Noah the letters that were next and he did an incredible job at writing them. Super proud mummy moment!

Feeding the ducks

It was cold and miserable out so we thought we'd take the ducks some bread to munch on!
