Paddling pool time!

Day off + sunshine + two little boys = afternoon in my mum's back garden!

Luke was also around although he kept pinching the boys little rubber boats and running off with them!

I decided to leave Jake without a nappy on while he was in his swimming gear and when I came to change him back into his clothes, I noticed he had started to pee on mum's dining room floor. He noticed and then ran outside and finished off there! I haven't even shown him a potty yet, perhaps this is my cue??

Gran's for the afternoon

It's been really hot the past couple of boys so I decided there would be no better way than spending another hot day melting in Gran's conservatory. The boy's were alright though...

When we go to Grans Noah entertains himself with a small box of old corgi and matchbox cars, although this time Jake wanted some of the action!

Just before we headed back home we stopped off at the park as Noah had been begging to go to one all day. Just a beautiful warm evening and we were the only people there.

Afternoon in Matlock

We've had so much fun in Matlock this afternoon. The weather was glorious and the boys were shockingly well behaved! We walked along the front which reminded me more of Blackpool, loads going on, arcades, cafes, chippies and lots of motorbikes.

We stopped for milkshakes!

We went to an aquarium built around the original thermal springs of Matlock.

And to one of the arcades!

Tuesday 23rd June

We spent this morning playing at Tom's house. You both spent most of the time in the garden looking out for bees.

Afterwards we went to Nan's house and Stewart was there, so we took Luke out and Noah and Stewart were on their bikes... which is quite handy actually as on the way back to my mums house it's all down hill and Noah whizzes down, there's no way I can keep up with him!

Once back at Nan's Noah helped out by watering Stewart's beans.

Ashford-in-the-Water

Okay, so I like this place a lot! So much so, I took Nana and Grandad to see it.

There was an old local man on this bridge who was explaining to us why the bridge was called "Sheep Wash" - learn something new everyday!

I think there is only one tea room here so we stopped off after a long play at the park and sat out the back in their "tea garden" where they had chickens!

Some of the chicks were only 1 day old. They kept the boys entertained while we waited for our milkshakes!

This was a trip for Josh's adventure diary.

Jofli Bear called Josh

Nana and Grandad were up and with Grandad helping Adam with the front garden, Nana and I and the boys went to see what was on down at the gardens. There was a craft and plant show on and one stall was selling these Jofli Bears. The idea being you take him on adventures and take his picture then record it in a diary, this is right up my street so decided I wanted one (for the boys, obviously)..

Noah picked the teddy (sort of) and the colour of his backpack and named him Josh. This was his first outing and Noah was explaining to him about their first adventure together!

Park at Ashford-in-the-Water

Adam and I stumbled upon this little gem in a beautiful village on the way to Bakewell. Today was quite a warm day and we were the only people at this park (just how I like it).

Jake thought it was pretty awesome too.

When we got home and Jake was napping I made myself a cup of tea and Noah asked for one too. Then much to my surprise he actually came outside with it and sat with me to drink it. It was just one of those moments, that amongst all the stresses of raising two young children just felt like for once he was on the same side as me and it felt good.

It's a shame it didn't last.

Jake chasing a duck

Sunday morning walk down to the gardens with the boys.

This really made me laugh and what made me laugh even more was the fact the duck won!

Jake - you're awesome.

Meanwhile, Noah had his football and was sludging through the mud...

Afternoon tea

Rach had come over to Buxton for our monthly afternoon tea and while Adam had Jake, we brought Noah along with us.

To his credit, he was as good as gold (with the help of YouTube on my phone) we quite honestly wouldn't have even known he was there. He had a chocolate brownie and some milk.

You can come again!

These faces!

I'm still undecided as to whether Jake was actually enjoying this experience.

These are located within the shopping centre and are my bribe every time we enter the place! (Just to sit in of course, as coincidentally I never have any pennies ;) )
