Peak View Tea Rooms

Nana and Grandad offered to take Noah down to Devon with them for four days just after Christmas and whilst I was upset and it's the longest we've been apart, apparently it didn't bother Noah in the slightest and he had a great time! While he was there, we went to Peak View Tea Rooms on the Cat and Fiddle Road with Jake, but Jake was fast asleep in the car for the majority of it, so it was just Adam and I.

It was such a nice afternoon, while we were having our tea there were people coming in for hot chocolates who had just been sledging. There was such a great atmosphere, we'll have to go again next winter with Noah and do the same.

Exploring the snow

The next day we had to take the boys out in it but I feel the reaction was a little undecided. Well Jake hated it so he stayed in with Nana, so Adam, Grandad and I took Noah down to the gardens and he loved it at first but got quite grumpy quite quickly when his feet got cold.

The place was stunning.

Let it snow

It started to snow tonight...

The in-laws were up so Adam and I took the opportunity to go for a walk in it. It was wonderful, so peaceful and just beautiful.

Prestatyn

Yes, you did read that right! Phil, the boys and I went to Prestatyn the day before Christmas Eve. For no other reason than, why not? Well and nostalgic reasons as Gran had a caravan there for years and we used to go every year.

We walked along the promenade down to Festival Gardens, which even when it was opened years ago was looking pretty derelict and now it's closed I'm sure you can imagine how it looked! Either way, it's all part of North Wales and felt good. Cold, but good.

Noah's first nativity

The time has finally come! Although it wasn't technically a nativity as they could only be a king or a shepherd, but I guess that's beside the point (puts away her Joseph costume). We made Noah's king outfit and to be fair it was pretty awesome..

It was one of the cutest things ever. They were singing Christmas songs and there was one where the parents had to decorate our own stars and wave them around during Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star. I was so proud of him.

Charlotte's Christmas visit

Charlotte came over with Dan and Finley for the afternoon and after lunch it had started to snow - this was the first snow for Finley and Jake!

We have also put out the Christmas lights on our hedges.

The Santa Express

This brainwave hit me in October and I thought it would be pretty ace for all of us. It turned out way better than my expectations and would love to keep it going annually as a Christmas tradition.

It was catered really well for the kids. First off we were singing Christmas songs followed by fruit shoot and mince pies, with sherry for the parents and a bit more singing (Adam was loving it) there was also entertainers on board who were telling jokes and then Santa came round to every child and had a chat and gave them a present. It was just brilliant. On top of it all we were on an old steam train! Little boy's element.
