The Adventures of a boy and his bike: Skate Park

Sainsburys, West park, the cemetery and the skate park are all next to each other and so this morning we went to Sainsburys followed by the playground and then on the bike to the cemetery to check our plants were doing okay and finished at the skate park where he made himself a friend. Kailen was older than Noah but was so good with him, I was there for ages watching them whizz round and Jake found it so entertaining he fell asleep in the pram ;)

And I think these are doing very well, just needed a water.

The Adventures of a boy and his bike: Riverside

Not been here for a while. I used to come a great deal when I was still living at home as it was a great dog walking park especially with the river. Not so good though for little boys on their bike wearing sandals 'Mummy I have stones in my sandals' x150.

Noah the dog whisperer.

What was an added bonus was the rail track just to the side of the park with incredibly frequent trains. Noah loves to point out trains, planes, trucks, cars, dogs, people, cats...

The Adventures of a boy and his bike: Congleton Park

Lots of things going on at Congleton park today. They are expanding the playground so there were lots of trucks and diggers around which they both found very exciting...

..and other exciting things to watch like people playing bowls... Noah even asked me to take a photo of them!

I wonder where the bike will take us next! xxx

Poorly Noah

Noah was poorly for 4 days. He isn't usually the sort that gets poorly very often so it was quite a thing. We picked him up early from nursery on Thursday because he had a temperature and was sleeping all day and not eating so took him to the docs Thursday night just to be sent away with advice re temperature. I stayed off with him on Friday where he spent most of the day sleeping and he wasn't really improving over weekend. Sunday night came and I called the out of hours and they wanted him to be seen in the next 24 hours as he was now getting fevers too and was very lethargic.

Sunday night was the first night he had slept through and Monday he woke up as though nothing had been wrong. His temperature and fever had gone and he had regained his appetite. His nap was also normal but he was still quite emotional. Thursday came round and he refused blank to go to nursery. He refused to walk so I carried him on one arm and pushed the pram with my other all the while he was crying. Put him down to cross the road and he tripped which lead to bleeding and more tears/tantruming. Got to nursery eventually and he was refusing to follow me in, really kicking off by this point but I didn't know if he was feeling dodgy or just being difficult so persevered. He was literally attached to me by the time we made it to his room and was hysterical about me leaving him but I had to just peel him off and run.

9:30am I called nursery to check I wasn't the worse mother in the world and he was as happy as Larry eating his toast....!!!

Day in Mansfield

We had a great day in Mansfield. The weather was perfect and it was great to see everyone again. Steve took us on a walk and of course to see the sheep (Jake's first time!) although I think Noah's highlight was the big box of Phil's old toy cars which Steve brought out - this was right up his street!

Afterwards we went across to Mick and Jan's for tea. It was good to see them again. The boys had lots of fun with Eve, sat on the worktop splashing water xxx

Costa

We took a trip into town with Grandad while Adam was at work and he treated us to a Costa! This is usually the sort of place I would avoid at all costs with two little ones..

But it's amazing the difference is makes with an extra pair of hands!

Waddington Airshow

An incredible day spent at Waddington at the RAF Airshow with Grandad. This was the first airshow we'd taken the boys to and something tells me it won't be the last!

Tidying up the stones...

I have mentioned a couple of times that one of my projects was to tidy up these family gravestones and today was the day.

Uncle Phil helped us to tidy up the stones of our Uncle John and our Great Gran Brentnall. We scrubbed, tidied, planted, cut back and washed and were very pleased with how they came up. Gran was also very touched that we had taken an interest and seemed to appreciate our efforts.
