Mother's Day

I had a fabulous first Mother's Day with both of the boys! It started with a very lazy morning. We were out last night watching Stewart's band and didn't get back til late so it was really nice lounging until 12 watching Monster's University.

Later on we went to Mum's for some tea and cake. Although not particularly sunny, it was really nice and warm so we were able to sit out in the garden.

I was even persuaded (not that it took much doing) to take up the flute! Having played the clarinet for years at all school I figured it couldn't be too difficult. So came home armed with one of Stewart's flute to try out!

Tittesworth Reservoir

This Sunday we found ourselves at Tittesworth Reservoir in the Peak District near Leek.

My mum used to bring me here quite a lot when I was younger.

There were lots of walks to go on but we only managed the 1.5 mile one and most importantly, there was a park there too! xxxx

Tatton Park

Tatton Park is one of my favourite places to go. It belongs to the National Trust and is a lovely drive out to Knutsford.

We started off in the play area which was very noisy with all the over head planes going past (which Noah LOVED) and then went to the 'Gardeners Restaurant' for lunch.

After lunch we went on to the gardens which are huge! My favourite part of those is the Japanese garden. Noah enjoyed walking along with Nana and I.

Whereas for Jake...

Walk to the 'Subway'

Phil and I took the boys out for some fresh air..

..and Noah seemed to really enjoy his first 'subway' experience!

The entire walls either side used to be full of professional looking graffiti, but nowadays it's looking pretty naff.

Noah had great fun with Phil on the slanted sides!

Our weekend away

As Nana and Grandad were up, we took the opportunity to have a weekend away. It was the first time since having the boys we have done this and it was just what we needed.

We went to Manchester, as although we've both been there a million times we have never really appreciated what is there in it's entirety.

On the Saturday afternoon after dropping off our bags at the Renaissance we went for a wander around the shopping area and stopped for a lovely cup of tea.

There was some debate where to go for tea, but we decided on eating in the restaurant at the hotel. Which was rather posh.

Sunday morning was lovely and sunny so we went for a wander around more of the older parts of Manchester.

My favourite part was going to the Manchester Art Gallery and had also planned to go to the central library..

But this was all covered up going through a renovation!

We also walked by one of the Cathedrals and heard plenty of bell ringing.

I really enjoyed myself and had never really appreciated Manchester for what it really is!

Same time next month?

Outside in the cold

It was bloody cold this afternoon but I remained optimistic because the sun was out! So because of the tiniest glimmer of sunshine I decided it was time to plant some flowers in my window box and baskets... and of course was helped by Noah.

Later we ventured into the back garden and rediscovered the trampoline and see-saw. It was fun, but we were frozen!

 Roll on summer!
