Goodbye Chestnut Centre in Chapel

I recently learnt the Chestnut Centre was closing permanently on 31st December therefore we had to take an impromptu trip just for old times sake. It was good fun, until I got too cold and wet, this didn't however bother the boys who thoroughly enjoyed running round in the mud and splashing in the puddles! I'm certainly going to miss the reindeer's.

Trip to Buxton Cinema

This was not planned! Rach had tickets for herself, her mum and Ella and Sophie but because of the snow couldn't make it over to Buxton. She then offered me the tickets to go and see Paddington 2 and so I thought, why not? What was weird was the fact only last night I booked us 5 nights in London for next April and Paddington 2 was all about the landmarks in London! It was a huge success and the walk home in the snow was also lots of fun. We're so pleased there's now a cinema in Buxton!

Sledging at Blue Lagoon

I think I can safely say this was the best sledging experience we have ever had! Neither boy cried! Noah even accidentally went down a hill backwards, we held our breath and thankfully when he reached the end he was laughing. Afterwards we went round to Grandads for a cup of tea, warm milk and a chocolate biscuits.

Christmas Day 2017

I really didn't take many pictures! We spent it at home with Nana and Grandad and Nan and Phil.

Christmas Eve

This was the boy's on Christmas Eve saying goodbye to Eddie the Elf who was going back home to help Santa deliver the presents. As Eddie had left the boys a note, Noah wrote one back to him which was just lovely.  Earlier they had built the Polar Express out of Duplo in the living and we had left Eddie under the Christmas tree and then went to Nana and Grandads for a buffet lunch. When we got home the Elf was on top of the train! To this day, we have no idea how he got there!!

Castleton Walk

When we went to see Santa's Grotto we didn't get enough time to look around the shops so as we all had today off we went back to Castleton and it was sooo quiet it was perfect! We went for a very wet walk - Noah loved how there was a little river running down the path! We then stopped for lunch at the Old Nags Head which was delicious. We were the only people eating in there. Perfect.

School's Christmas Event

It was the first time we've been to something like this and it really was good fun. Adam came along too when he got home from work so that made it even better. There were raffles, glitter tattoos, crafts, santas grotto, movies, cakes and so much more! We all have a great time and are certainly going to go to the next one.

Santa's Grotto at Castleton

It seemed a good idea on paper - it was very wet and very cold so I thought the que for Santa wouldn't be that bad.. how wrong was I?! We queued for about 1 hour 10 mins and were with Santa for approx 3 mins. But the boys were so well behaved whilst we queued and only mumbled a couple of times (I think I complained more!) by the time we were near the front they were both so excited they had forgotten all about the waiting they had just done. Afterwards we went to a pub to warm up with an afternoon tea whilst the boys created their santa puppets. It was such good fun, I really enjoyed it.
