Noah's Birthday

One word.. bike.

So we upgraded Noah's balance bike to a big boy's bike and he took to it like a fish to water! Grandad had brought his bike up too so Noah had someone to practice with.

Naturally, Jake inherited the balance bike and will certainly need some more practice as he's just walking with it between his legs at the moment.

Our first trip was to the bike shop to purchase a helmet and gloves. Then on the way home he rode round the gardens.

We can't believe how quickly he picked it up.. very proud of you kid.

Chester Races

Chester is by far my favourite city to explore.

We stopped off for some lunch and were able to sit outside because the weather was so nice! It was Chester Races that day and I felt incredibly under dressed.

We met up with Phil and walked around the wall and past the race course. I was happy to carry on but after we explained to Noah about the horses he wanted to stay and watch...

...and to be fair he did have a pretty good seat!

Following on from there we headed to the river and had ice creams and a lovely walk down the riverside. That was until Jake decided he'd had enough and was kicking off so we made a swift exit back to the car!

Beautiful place, we'll be back soon!

Bakewell

We headed over to Bakewell for the afternoon although looking through the pictures, I really didn't take many of the boys!

Still, it's a beautiful little town.

Train ride

To reward Noah's good behaviour I took them both down to the gardens for a trip on the train. I've posted all the photos I took as their faces crack me up!

Once we got home:

Tour of Britain

Today was not planned at all. In fact I was even meant to be at work but Noah was sick this morning which therefore resulted in a spontaneous holiday. By the time we were back home from dropping Jake at nursery, approx 9:05, Noah was absolutely fine. So in a turn of events it turned into a Mummy and Noah day and was pretty awesome.

The Tour of Britain just happened to be passing by so we went into town to soak up the atmosphere.

We found a very good spot on the side of the road and Noah was so excited to see the bikes! He patiently waited 30 minutes before we saw anything and was an excellent companion.

He was entertained by the police motorbikes with their sirens on which kept coming past and then eventually the cyclists came. Blink and you miss it..

However, lucky for Noah the convoy of team support cars was equally, if not more, entertaining and they just kept coming. A handful of them waved at him!

Although I do feel the biggest highlight of the Tour of Britain for Noah was the... parked up fire engine. I guess the guys were quiet and came along to watch the bikes but as soon as they saw Noah looking interested they all came round to see us and hoiked him into a seat and put a hat on him. As I was taking a photo a wasp took a fancy to me and wouldn't leave me alone, I needn't have worried, 3 fireman were shooing it away from me hahaha (that was my highlight)

After all the excitement we went to get milkshakes! But then....

...on our way home through the gardens they have extreme BMXing going on which was incredible! Noah however found much more entertainment on the inflatable slide next to them.

When we eventually got home around 2:30pm Noah flaked on the pouffe for well over 2 hours.

What an awesome sick day!

Wet Scooter Ride

You can't see the rain at all in these photos but we were stood under a bridge for ages waiting for it to pass.. which thankfully it eventually did and was replaced by sunshine!

Noah loves his scooter, Jake wasn't so keen. I did get him to put both feet on it and push him, but even that didn't last long.
