Noah the Gardener

I am lucky to have a boy who enjoys getting stuck in with the gardening! Today he was pulling out weeds and sweeping up hedge cuttings. Each morning when we leave the house, he always does a 'slug patrol' where he searches for slugs and extracts them from the garden for me.

Peak Dale Park

One of the the things I love about this park is how 9 times out of 10 we have the place to ourselves! It's a great open park with sheep at the bottom - it really does makes me feel like we are in the depths of the countryside.

Noah and the bus (and school)

So this morning Noah had a settling in session at his school which he's starting in September. It's his second one and was there from 9:30 - 11:45. I then went to join him at 11:45 and we went down to the hall and had a school dinner. Very good food actually, there was a choice of chicken curry, lasagne, rice, vegetables, naan bread, fruit and a selection of sandwiches. I opted for curry and Noah.. a cheese sandwich. After the trip to school we had a Mummy and Noah afternoon and when I asked him what he wanted to do, he told me he wanted to go on a bus. So we did just that.

We picked up the bus from Market Place and went all the way to Bakewell. He loved it!

He was however getting a little grumpy at the park because he didn't have his partner in crime to play with.

But he soon cheered up when we went for milkshakes!

It got quite exciting on the way home as it started to really heavily rain while we were on the bus and by the time we got back to Buxton the thunder had started. We literally ran the whole way from the bus stop to home and got completely drenched!

Emergency services open day

The beauty of living so close to the Pavilion Gardens is that you can stumble upon events such as this - which lets face it, are a little boys dream! They had just about everything there and Noah went up to all of them and asked the guys if he could sit in their vehicle. They all said yes.

We then watched a chip pan explosion which was pretty incredible - we were close enough to feel the heat from the fire which I think took Noah by surprise a little!

Gatecrashing the garden!

My mum has gone to Switzerland so the boys and I headed over to her garden to water the pots. The paddling pool took forever to fill up and didn't last that long at all. The boys were running around the lawn and jumping into the pool on their knees!

Later we went for a bike ride / walk down the canal and ended up in a very sweet make shift farm ran by this family (I think they were gypsies on reflection) but they took us round all their animals, baby pigs, ducks, goats etc and even let Noah have a ride on their horse!

Edinburgh: Arthur's Seat and Portobello Beach

We left this morning but before we went we headed towards Arthur's Seat just outside the city. This place was incredible. It was bit of a hike but the views were entirely worth it!

We even managed to swing by Portobello beach before we headed home. It was just like any other beach really, but I was happy I got to see everything I had on my list and very happy I got to see it with my <3

When's the next trip?!
